This unearthly and alien looking critter is a Whip Scorpion or A.K.A Vinegaroon. (Thelyphonida) Vinegaroons are in the Arachnid family and have a long tail that gives them their Whip Scorpino name. Vinegaroon refers to their ability to shoot a vinegarscented liquid from their tail when they feel threatened. The smell comes from the acetic acid in the liquid.
