Terrestrial

The Mexican Black Velvet (Tliltocatl schroederi) is a sought-after Mexican species known for its deep, velvety black coloring from head to toe. Adults reach about 5–6" in leg span, and females are long-lived.

Temperament: Often reclusive and spends a lot of time in its burrow. It can be skittish and may flick urticating hairs, but it is hardy and suitable for beginners who don't need a display animal that is always out.

Care: Deep, mostly dry substrate for burrowing, a hide or starter burrow, and a shallow water dish. Normal room temperatures are fine.

Growth rate: Slow.
